Although this is great news for the residents and economy of New Zealand the Prime Minister advised that freedom of level 2 might not all come at once. Therefore level 2 will come in stages, high-risk businesses and social gatherings might be held back and slowly released as the government monitors the COVID situation in the country. Even though there has been a substantial decrease in the number of infections the Government will be proceeding with caution as they do not want to get carried away as an increase of Covid-19 cases would result in another lockdown.
