Australia has now entered its new financial year. This means that the General Skilled Migration (GSM) is now closed until the new budgets are released for the 2020/2021 financial year.

Due to COVID-19, the Commonwealth Government allocation of state nomination places for 2020/2021 has been delayed. Therefore State and Territory governments cannot nominate applicants under the Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 categories until the new financial years SkillSelect quotas are allocated. However, Subclass 189 is still open and applicants can still submit under this category.

The 2020/2021 GSM program is scheduled to re-open from early next August 2020.

So what can you do in the meantime?

It is advisable that you start working on your documents and completing the necessary assessments. Below are some guidelines to follow to ensure you are prepared once the quotas allocated.

Visa and Immigration Assessment

Before you can apply you need to know if you qualify and which visa you qualify for. This is a very simple and painless process that Oak Tree Immigration does absolutely FREE. During your assessment, one of our experienced Relocation Consultants will analyze your profile to ensure that the best route to Australia is advised to you. Should you not qualify for Australia they will advise on another destination that will suit your profile better.
